Leyda Luz (1989, Mexico)
Visual artist focused on photography and illustration researching about admiration and fanaticism. She studied her bachelor's in graphic design at Facultad de Artes Visuales (Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, Monterrey, Mexico). In 2016 she studied drawing techniques in Barcelona, Spain at Barcelona Atelier of Realist Art.
Through her career she has complemented her education by taking workshops with renowned artists from the national and international scene as Fernando Aceves, Yvonne Venegas, Antoni Sellés, Fernando Villalvazo, Mateo Pizarro, Alejandro Cartagena, Xavier Denia y Stefan Sagmeister to name a few.
In 2011 she had the solo exhibit “Structura” at the alternative space ”Leun’un ArteHabitación”. She has other collective exhibitions as "Residente Temporal" at Galería Conarte in 2010 in Monterrey Mexico and ”Imágenes Emergentes” at La Casa de la Cultura in 2017. In 2012 she was a finalist in the contest “I'm a Music Photographer'' organized by Nikon.
Currently she is working on the project "Contemporary Gods", which was launched in SONDA program (Platform of Photographic Projects by Conarte) in 2020. Recently she participated in the collective exhibition Jazz World Photo 2020 in Melnik, Czech Republic and at November 2022 she will be part of the exhibition The Gram Uptown at NoMAA’s Gallery in New York City.
